...Hope you folks haven't been worrying about me. I've been covering a lot of territory and just a little lazy.
Well the ferry deal is over with & we are stationed just out of CENSORED. Went in twice yesterday. Tried to call Billy [Oscar's older brother] but couldn't get the call through. Impossible I guess. Well he should look me up. I'm sure he knows where I am. Looks like it would be hard for me to get up there to see him. Well here's hoping.
We've had a very nice time, stopped at about seven dif. places. Took us exactly 12 days to make two trips. Flew through quite a bit of weather. Have more thunder storms around here.
Well I guess we are assigned to an outfit now. The 13th Bomber Command of the 13th A.F. Guess we will be leaving here pretty soon [Oscar probably expects to keep moving North eventually flying missions over Japan].
Rainy here as ever & the mud is knee deep almost. The Filipinos are around almost all the time trying to sell us bananas, pineapples & coconuts. Very cheap & not bad at times. Guess I'll get fat.
Have a big pineapple here that would make a good sized up side down cake.
Well I guess the crops are all finished & nothing to do but fish & lay around [Oscar is probably being facetious here, because he knows they work hard on the farm. Oscar expects his letters are read in front of the family and he would love to get a rise out of them].
Boy I can't think of a thing to write about. I'll sign off. Take it easy.
Love Oscar
