Danged happy boy right now. Finally found Billy. I'd been trying to call him. Got a call thru Sat. Nite & when I got back to camp, there he was. He had been to Clark & the first guys he seen were the ones I had hauled up here. I guess they gave him the story.
Well we were alerted Sat nite but I went back with Billy anyways. Quite a distance up there. We came back yesterday afternoon. Very nice he has a jeep & driver. If I'm still here he is coming back tomorrow & stay here until Wed morn.
He hasn't changed a bit. I was afraid I wouldn't recognize him but I could have any place. Doggone big talker too. I really asked him a lot of questions.
Looked over all his souvenirs. He has quite a collection. Has a beautiful Samurai sword. Also a lot of pictures & such. Gave me three Jap rifles. Don't know if I can bring one home or not. Hope so. Showed me the field gun that hit him. One of his officers took it the day after he was hit. Not much of a scar where he was hit. Can't hardly see it. He's in doggone good health & spirits also. Met Bill Mulford and all the other officers. All very nice guys & they really think the world of Billy. By the way did he tell you they had recommended him for a cluster for his silver star. Doesn't know if it will come thru or not. Two silver stars not bad. Huh?
He's executive officer now & that rates a majority, he says he will get Major if he stays much longer. Doesn't want it if he can get home now.
Billy met the most of my boys. Don't know what he thought of them. Thinks Ragland is quite a boy tho. That's my navigator. My Nav. & Copilot got a rifle each & were tickled to death.
Boy you can't imagine how good it is to see some one from home in a place like this. I was so danged afraid I'd ship out before I could see him.
Well I guess I'd better sign off. Hope all you folks are well. Take it easy. I'll write more later.

Love Oscar
