...Better not write me any more. Guess we will leave here pretty soon. Of course that doesn't mean I'll be home before Thanksgiving but the mail probably won't reach me. O.K.?
We are going to fly a B-24 home. We're having trouble keeping the crew together going home on time over sea & some of the crews ahead were short a few men and some of ours jumped a crew or two. Now myself, Copilot, Nav. & Engineer are going together. I wanted to fly the whole crew home & they wanted to go with me but that's the Army for you.
Say Mama I'll send a wire as soon as I hit the States. Should take about a month or longer. Then you can have time to get that big feed ready. I want it to last about 6 months. About a gallon of milk daily will be plenty. Don't know about it but think we will be discharged before we come home. Not bad huh?
Guess you folks are about foundered on all those lasses. I could go for some with numerous hot biscuits & cow butter...
