Dear Folks

Well here I am again. Still waiting. It seems that we may get new assignments. I guess you've read of the great number of B-24's flying back to the States. Well they didn't have as many as they thought. So many for the 13th 5th & 7th Air Forces. The 13th have used all their quota & here I am. About 35 crews. I'm #2 man on the list for the ships, but am afraid they won't have any left over. If I get a ship I get a discharge as soon as I hit the States, if not I may be an M.P. or something in Japan. Nice Huh? Well you can hold all my mail if its returned & forward it to my new add. When I get one.
I've flown only once since I got here - 4 hrs for my flying pay for Nov. That's good money $75 for 4 hrs work.
I started to go to Church today but looks pretty bad. Have storm warning a typhoon off the coast. Not bad I guess.
Talk about a bunch of mad guys. Every one sent here was supposed to go home but that's changed. I wouldn't mind staying over too much but I wish they could get it settled whether I am or not. One day we've got a ship, the next we haven't . Keeps a guy happy.
Say how's the Major or Ex Major I guess by now. Boy I'd give any thing for my mail but I'm sure I won't get any more. I guess you folks are really happy to have Billy back, boy I'm glad too. I can see that three years over here without combat would be bad enuf. I'm sure morale was better when the war was going on than it is now tho. Boy is this old world in a heck of a shape. China seems to be on the war path again. May be I'll get to finish my missions over there.
Weather is cool here and not bad at all. This is the best transient camp I've been in but not exactly like home.
Well I'd better sign off. I've got some Flip carpenters making me some shower clogs and I'd better supervise it. I'll write sooner next time.

Love Oscar
