Sept 5, 1945

...Been playing some basketball. Not in too good shape. Too much beer I guess. HA HA. Well what's so funny about that? I eat quite a bit of candy too. Bought some almond "crunch" (vacuum packed) for P#2.25 Pesos, that's 2 pesos & 25 centavos worth exactly $1.12 ½ in our coin.
Am I lazy. Just sit around & do nothing. I do get up enuf energy to try making a souvenir once in a while. Made an ash tray out of a 40mm shell. Not too bad I guess. Also have you some beads made from some small sea shells. Lovely necklace. Took me about a day to make it. Finally made me a faucet for the water barrel out of a 2 by 4 & a broom stick, better than a store bought one. Still a good carpenter. Also can brag a little...
