June 30, 1945
...Have bought a few souvenirs but don't know when I can send them. Bought a hatchet, some snaps, a bush knife. Also had a watch band made out of stainless steel with half of a wing on either side. Very nice & a sort of curiosity. Talked with the Aussie that made it' He's called Tex. Owns a 7,600 acre ranch & he told me all about it too.
Well my two gunners that came up here later. Came in night before last & left again yesterday. I'll pick them up at the next base...
